Four questions, one honest number.
A few quick questions about your business. You get a forecast after product cost, rewards and our price, with every assumption shown.
Customers in a month
Customers per day × days open, divided by how often a customer visits. That's how many different people come in each month.
How many come back
We start from a repeat rate for how you bring customers back today and project how much a wallet card raises it. The gain grows with the share of regulars who join.
Only part of it counts
Some returning customers would have come back anyway. The low end of your range counts only 65% of the extra visits as new.
What you keep
Extra visits × average spend, minus the cost of what you sell, minus the rewards those extra visits earn at product cost, minus the Rewardly plan.
Our starting points, with half of regulars joining
| How you bring customers back today | Come back today | With a card |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing formal | 18% | 27% |
| Paper stamp cards | 22% | 29% |
| Discounts for regulars | 20% | 26% |
| A loyalty app or POS points | 26% | 29% |
What we leave out
New customers from word of mouth, push campaigns and bigger orders from members. They happen, but we can't estimate them for your business, so the forecast doesn't count them.
Why the card is sized this way
In a field study at a café, customers bought coffee more often the closer they got to a free one (Kivetz, Urminsky and Zheng, Journal of Marketing Research, 2006). So we suggest a card a typical regular can finish in about six weeks.
Questions owners ask
The headline is what you keep after the cost of what you sell, the rewards you give away and the Rewardly plan. Revenue is shown separately in the breakdown. Rent and wages aren't subtracted, because they don't change when a regular comes back once more.
Because we subtract costs and count only part of the extra visits as new. A number you can actually reach is more useful to plan around.
Say so when we ask how you bring customers back today. We then project only a small gain, mostly from a card that lives in the phone's wallet instead of an app customers have to download.
The forecast uses the Advanced plan at €49.90 per location per month, a little less from two locations. See all plans.
