Barbershop loyalty program: rewards that match the haircut rhythm
Barbershop loyalty program built on the haircut rhythm: which visit to reward, a reminder after 30 days without a visit and VIP perks for loyal clients.

A barbershop has one advantage over a café: regulars come back in a steady rhythm. If most of your clients come every 3 to 5 weeks, your whole loyalty program should follow that rhythm. It decides on which visit you give the reward, when you remind a client it is time for a cut, and who deserves VIP status.
Which visit to reward
With a haircut at €15 to €25, do not give the reward too early. A free cut on the third visit costs you the full price of the cut plus the time in the chair. A smaller reward later works better, for example on the sixth visit.
Example using the formula from how many stamps on a loyalty card: a cut costs €20, and the reward is a beard trim or hair wax that costs you, say, €4. With six stamps that is 4 ÷ (6 × 20) = 3.3%. A client who comes every four weeks gets the reward after roughly six months.
Hair and beard products are cheaper rewards than a cut, because you only pay the purchase price, not the barber's time. Clients also use them at home and think of you every time. Give a stamp per visit, not per service, to keep the card simple.

A reminder when a client has not come in
With push notifications, you can set a message that goes out on its own if a client has not come back within a number of days you choose. At 30 days, for a client who comes every 3 to 4 weeks, that is exactly when they should have been back. A client on a 5 week rhythm gets the message a little early, so it should read like a friendly reminder, not a plea.
For example:
Beard getting a bit long? Grab a free slot here. See you soon.
If the client still does not get in touch, another message every week will not help. For more ways to win back lost clients, read 7 best ways to reactivate customers.
VIP for your most loyal clients
Every barbershop has a few clients who have been coming for years, always to the same barber. They deserve more than another stamp. With Rewardly VIP cards, you set a threshold of visits or spend and the client moves up a tier automatically, with a notification on their phone. Set the threshold so that only true regulars reach it, for example ten visits.
The perks do not have to be expensive. Two are enough:
Priority booking. A VIP client gets a free slot first when the week is full.
A free beard trim. Now and then with a cut, as a thank you. It costs you a few minutes, and the client remembers it.
