The 8 Best Loyalty Apps for Coffee Shops Compared for 2026

We compared loyalty apps for coffee shops on price, wallet cards, POS integrations and setup time. See which stamp card app suits your café.

A paper stamp card has a short life in a café. It stays at home, gets lost in a coat pocket, or never starts because the queue is moving. A digital card fixes that, but only if regulars actually add it and staff can stamp it in seconds during the morning rush.

This guide compares eight loyalty apps on that test: speed at the till, steps for the customer, and cost per location. It uses what each vendor publishes on its own website. We weigh the points a café in Europe cares about: prices in euros, where customer data is hosted, and links to the tills used in Slovakia and Czechia. A café in the US or UK can still use the guide, and the Square and Toast notes are written for you. Rewardly, which publishes this guide, is one of the eight.

Quick answer: which loyalty app fits which coffee shop

  • A café in Europe that wants euro pricing, EU hosting and a till link: Rewardly.
  • A single café anywhere that wants a wallet card and no app download: Loopy Loyalty, Passtastic or Rewardly.
  • The cheapest way to start: BonusQR, which has a free plan with limits.
  • Customers who like a stamp card app and a tap device at the counter: Stamp Me.
  • A café that already runs on Square or Toast: Square Loyalty or Toast Loyalty, because they live inside the till you already pay for.
  • A chain, franchise or agency managing several brands: Boomerangme, Passtastic (each extra location is €15 a month), or Rewardly, which charges per location and has an Enterprise plan with team management and audit logs for five or more locations.

Which one fits best

For a café in Europe, and above all in Slovakia or Czechia on Papaya POS, Storyous, Portos or Dotykačka, Rewardly is the closest fit on the criteria above. It prices in euros, keeps data on EU servers, connects to all four of those tills, offers a 14 day trial and a fully customisable wallet card, and covers seven card types from one dashboard.

Outside Europe the answer changes. A café on Square is better served by Square Loyalty. For the lowest base price, Passtastic fits, and for a free start, BonusQR. Loopy Loyalty is a straightforward wallet stamp card for a single café.

How we compared them

We looked at 17 products and kept the eight that are sold today and fit a café. We left out developer platforms such as PassKit, which bills by pass volume and is built for custom projects, and products whose current offer we could not confirm on their own site.

Each product was checked for the same things: price for one location, app or wallet card, how staff stamp, till connection, push messages, locations per plan and main limitation. Where data is hosted is a question for each vendor: Rewardly hosts in the EU, and we could not confirm it for the others. We did not invent ratings or collect customer reviews. The order below groups products by type and is not a ranking.

The eight loyalty apps for coffee shops

Loopy Loyalty

Loopy sells digital stamp cards for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Customers join through a QR code or link, with no app, and staff add stamps in the Stamper App.

  • Best for: an independent café that wants a simple wallet stamp card and a quick start.
  • Pricing: Starter $25 a month, Growth $69, Ultimate $95, all with unlimited customers and a 15 day trial without a card. Annual billing is about 17% cheaper, although the page says 20%.
  • Strengths: no app for customers, a clear price ladder and a quick start.
  • Limitations: Starter covers one location and one card design. The only integrations named are Zapier and Make, and the page does not say which plan includes push messages or analytics.

Stamp Me

Stamp Me is an app based stamp card platform and one of the names that appears most often in "best loyalty app" lists.

  • Best for: cafés that like physical stamping tools. Its StampPod tap device sits on the counter, and single use QR codes can be printed on labels or packaging for takeaway orders.
  • Pricing: Lite €29, Pro €49, Elite €169 a month (US dollar pricing is $49, $79 and $199, with a limited time offer shown on some plans). Each plan covers a single location, with 30 days free after you publish a card. Two published cards are included and extra ones cost €15 one time.
  • Strengths: several ways to stamp and unlimited push messages.
  • Limitations: the card lives in the Stamp Me app, so the customer must install it. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet only hold a member code, and only if you use the Stamp Business app.
  • Website: stampme.com

Passtastic

Passtastic offers wallet loyalty cards for independent shops. It sells a cheap base plan and lets you add features as packs.

  • Best for: a café that wants a wallet card at the lowest base price, especially one that uses Square or Lightspeed.
  • Pricing: €19 a month excluding VAT (€171 a year) for one location, one loyalty program, unlimited customers and free push messages, with a 14 day trial and no card. Each pack costs €9 a month: automated messages such as birthday and win back, customer insights, referral rewards and Google review requests, and the till connection. All four packs are €29, so €48 in total. Extra locations cost €15 each, and selling memberships or store credit online adds 0.99% plus Stripe's fee. Its home page still says "from €39".
  • Strengths: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, its own app with nothing to download, table bookings on the base plan, and a trial that needs no card.
  • Limitations: the till connection is a paid pack and covers Square, Lightspeed, Odoo, Holded and similar tills, not Papaya POS, Storyous, Portos or Dotykačka. Its listed interface languages are English, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Ukrainian, with no Slovak or Czech.

BonusQR

BonusQR is the only product here with a permanent free plan.

  • Best for: a café testing loyalty on a tight budget, or one that needs no till connection at all.
  • Pricing: Free forever, Basic $20 a month and Premium $71 a month, all with unlimited customers and scans. The page shows the paid plans billed every three months.
  • Strengths: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet on every plan, seven loyalty program types on the free plan, and a mobile QR scanner.
  • Limitations: the free plan has no news push. Basic allows one every four days and Premium one a day. Points, tiered stamp cards and the online shop for vouchers need a paid plan.

Rewardly

Rewardly, the publisher of this guide, makes loyalty cards for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Customers add a card from a QR code in about 10 seconds, and staff stamp with the Rewardly scanner, which runs in a web browser.

  • Best for: a café that wants a wallet card with no app, stamps per visit or per product, and the option to connect a local till later. It suits cafés using Papaya POS, Storyous, Portos or Dotykačka.
  • Pricing: Basic €29.90, Advanced €49.90 and Professional €79.90 per location a month, excluding VAT. Cards are unlimited on every plan, setup takes about 2 minutes, and the 14 day trial needs a card on file but charges nothing. Yearly billing gives two months free.
  • Strengths: seven card types (stamps, points, VIP, discount, gift cards, vouchers and cashback, with vouchers on Professional), stamps per visit or per product, points from 1 to 50 per euro with a rewards shop and a weekend double points option, a fully customisable card design, EU hosting, and four till connections.
  • Messages: from Advanced, push messages can go out on their own after a visit, a new stamp or a birthday, or on a date you schedule up to a year ahead. Every plan includes basic analytics.
  • Limitations: there is no free plan, and groups of five or more locations move to custom Enterprise pricing. Push messages and till connections start on Advanced, and gift vouchers on Professional. There is no connection to Square, Toast or Shopify, and no referral program.

Square Loyalty

Square Loyalty is the obvious choice if Square already runs your counter.

  • Best for: a café that takes payments with Square and wants loyalty in the same dashboard.
  • Pricing: €39 a month per location excluding VAT, with a 30 day free trial.
  • Strengths: points per visit, per amount or per item, bronze, silver and gold tiers, and email and text campaigns through Square Marketing.
  • Limitations: it ties your loyalty program to Square. The page describes points and rewards and does not mention stamp cards.
  • Website: squareup.com

Toast Loyalty

Toast Loyalty is a module of the Toast platform, so it only makes sense if Toast is your till.

  • Best for: restaurants and bigger cafés on Toast that want loyalty and ordering data in one system.
  • Pricing: Toast does not publish a loyalty price on the pages we could reach. Third party guides describe it as a quote based add on.
  • Strengths: no second system to run.
  • Limitations: you need Toast. It is not a standalone app for a small café.
  • Website: pos.toasttab.com

Boomerangme

Boomerangme sells Business, Agency and Franchise plans, with features for running several locations or brands.

  • Best for: a coffee chain or an agency running loyalty for several brands.
  • Pricing: Business from $199 a month ($164 billed annually), Agency from $259, Franchise from $299. All have a 14 day trial without a card.
  • Strengths: unlimited loyalty cards, ten locations, geo fenced messages and white label on Agency.
  • Limitations: the price is far above the other products for a single café.

How to choose loyalty software for a coffee shop

Count visits, not customers

A café regular may come three to five times a week, so a card with eight or ten stamps can fill in two or three weeks. That is a reward customers can reach. Points suit mixed menus and bigger tickets. Our guides on how many stamps to put on a loyalty card and on stamp per visit or stamp per product go deeper.

Time the stamp at the counter

Ask each vendor what a staff member does for one stamp: scan a code, tap a device, or type a phone number. Then try it during your busiest hour. A tool that takes ten extra seconds per customer costs you a queue.

Remove steps for the customer

Every extra step, such as an app store visit or an account, loses people while they wait for their coffee. Wallet cards remove the download.

Decide how a stamp is earned

One stamp per visit is simple. One stamp per coffee rewards the customer who buys for two. A per product stamp needs the app to read what was bought, which usually means a till connection. Check this before you pick a plan.

Check the limits that bite

Several entry plans cap something: one location, one card design, 200 active customers, or no push messages. Read the limits against your own café, including a second location.

Look at what you can say to regulars

A lock screen message when a regular is one stamp away, or a quiet afternoon offer, is where a loyalty app pays for itself. Check which plan includes push messages.

Loyalty apps vs digital wallet cards

A dedicated app is a good idea when you have a reason for customers to open it often: ordering ahead, paying, or a large menu. The cost is the download, and a small café has to earn that install.

A wallet card lives next to the customer's boarding passes and bank cards. There is nothing to install, and the card can show a message on the lock screen. The trade off is that you work inside what Apple Wallet and Google Wallet allow, so you do not get a fully branded app. Most single location cafés need the second. Our comparison loyalty app vs wallet card: which one pays off walks through the decision.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best loyalty app for a small coffee shop?

It depends on your till and your customers. For a single independent café, a wallet card with no app (Loopy Loyalty, Passtastic or Rewardly) keeps sign up to a few seconds. BonusQR is the cheapest start. If you run Square or Toast, their built in tools avoid a second system.

Do customers need to download an app?

Not for Loopy Loyalty, Passtastic, BonusQR or Rewardly, which all use Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Stamp Me is app first, so customers install the Stamp Me app.

How much does a coffee shop loyalty app cost?

Among the products here, entry plans for one location run from free (BonusQR) to about €40 a month, with Boomerangme at $199. Plan contents differ, for example some include push messages and some sell them as an extra, so compare the final checkout price for the features you need. Our guide on what a café loyalty program costs covers rewards cost too.

Do I need to connect the app to my till?

No. Loopy Loyalty, Stamp Me, BonusQR and Rewardly all work without a till connection, and staff stamp by scanning. A connection matters when you want stamps to come from the receipt, for example one per product.

Should a café use stamps or points?

Stamps for frequent, low value visits, points when tickets vary a lot. Most cafés start with stamps and switch only if the menu or basket size calls for it.

Does Rewardly need a card for the free trial?

Yes. You add a payment card when you sign up and nothing is charged for 14 days. There is no free plan after the trial, and you can cancel before it ends.

Can I switch from a paper stamp card to a digital one without losing regulars?

Yes. A simple way is to run both for a few weeks: customers finish the paper card they hold, and new stamps go on the wallet card. Our guide on paper card vs digital card covers the handover.

Conclusion

Pick the loyalty app that matches your till, your customers and your size, not the longest feature list. Time a stamp in your busiest hour, check what the entry plan caps, and confirm the final price at checkout. If you want a wallet card with no app that you can set up in about 2 minutes, try Rewardly with a free trial and judge it against the others on this list.

Disclosure: Rewardly publishes this guide and is one of the eight products in it. Every product is judged on the same criteria, and where another one fits a café better, we say so. Prices and features were checked on 30 October 2026 on each vendor's own pages. They change, so confirm before you buy.
