The 9 Best Loyalty Software Platforms for Restaurants Compared for 2026
We compared loyalty software for restaurants on POS links, spend based points, multi location pricing and gift vouchers. See which one fits your restaurant.

A restaurant cannot run loyalty the way a café does. Nobody stamps a card at table 12 while forty covers wait, bills range from a lunch menu to a table of eight, and the guests who come back for birthdays are worth more than a free coffee. The software has to take points from the bill, redeem a reward in the same step as the payment, and work across a second location when it opens.
This guide compares nine loyalty tools for independent restaurants and small groups on those points, using what each vendor publishes on its own website, read on 30 October 2026. It weighs what a restaurant in Europe cares about: prices in euros, where guest data is hosted, and links to the tills used in Slovakia and Czechia. Restaurants in the US or UK can still use it, and the Square, Toast and Lightspeed notes are written for them. Rewardly, which publishes this guide, is one of the nine.
Quick answer: which loyalty software fits which restaurant
- A restaurant in Europe that wants euro pricing, EU hosting and a link to Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos: Rewardly.
- A restaurant that already runs on Square, Toast or Lightspeed: the loyalty module of that till, because the points come from the bill with nothing extra at the pass.
- The lowest base price, with table bookings included: Passtastic.
- A free start without a till link: BonusQR.
- Spend based points with tiers and cashback, priced in US dollars: Kangaroo Rewards or Loyalzoo.
- A group or franchise: Boomerangme, or Rewardly's Enterprise plan for five or more locations.
Which one fits best
For a restaurant in Europe, and above all in Slovakia or Czechia on Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos, Rewardly is the closest fit on the criteria below. It prices in euros per location, keeps guest data on EU servers, takes points or stamps from the receipt on those four tills, lets guests redeem rewards and pay with prepaid credit or cashback at the till on three of them, sells gift vouchers with no commission, and runs seven card types from one dashboard. Priced for the same job, the gap to the cheapest base plan is small: Passtastic's €19 reaches €48 with its four packs, within €2 of Rewardly Advanced at €49.90, and its till connection does not cover Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos.
Outside Europe the answer changes. A restaurant on Square, Toast or Lightspeed is better served by the loyalty module it already pays for. Kangaroo Rewards and Loyalzoo fit a US restaurant that wants spend based points and tiers, Passtastic fits the smallest budget, and BonusQR fits a free start.
How we compared them
We looked at 21 products and kept the nine a restaurant with one to five locations can buy today with a published price or a published plan. We dropped the enterprise platforms that sell only through sales calls to chains (Thanx, Punchh, Paytronix, Como) and two whose pages we could not read (TapMango, Clover rewards), and we left the pure stamp card apps (Loopy Loyalty, Stamp Me) to our café guide, because they do not take points from the bill.
Each product was checked for the same things: price for one location and for a second one, how guests join, which tills it connects to, whether rewards come from spend or visits, gift vouchers and prepaid credit, what messages cost, and the main limitation. We did not invent ratings or collect customer reviews. Where data is hosted is stated only for Rewardly, because the other vendors do not say on the pages we read. The order is not a ranking.

The nine loyalty tools for restaurants
Rewardly
Rewardly, the publisher of this guide, makes loyalty cards for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet and connects them to four Central European tills. Guests add a card from a QR code in about 10 seconds, and staff scan it with the Rewardly scanner, which runs in a web browser.
- Best for: a restaurant in Europe that wants points from the bill, redemption at the till and gift vouchers in one subscription, above all on Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos.
- Pricing: Basic €29.90, Advanced €49.90 and Professional €79.90 per location a month, excluding VAT, with yearly billing giving two months free. Groups of five or more locations get Enterprise pricing. The 14 day trial needs a card on file but charges nothing, setup takes about 2 minutes, and cards are unlimited on every plan.
- Strengths: seven card types (stamps, points, VIP, discount, gift cards, vouchers and cashback), points from 1 to 50 per euro with a rewards shop, a fully customisable card design and EU hosting. From Advanced, stamps or points are added from the receipt on Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka and Portos, and on Papaya POS, Storyous and Portos rewards are redeemed at the till and guests can pay with prepaid credit or cashback at the till. Gift vouchers on Professional sell online with no commission, only the Stripe fee. Push messages (Advanced and up) can go out on their own after a visit, a new stamp or a birthday, or on a date you schedule up to a year ahead, and analytics show each location separately.
- Limitations: there is no free plan. Push messages and till connections start on Advanced, and gift vouchers on Professional. There is no SMS channel, no connection to Square, Toast or Lightspeed (Shopify is listed as coming soon), no online ordering link, and no classic referral program, though invitation vouchers exist from Advanced.

Square Loyalty
Square Loyalty lives inside the Square till, so guests earn when they pay and staff do nothing extra.
- Best for: a restaurant that takes payments with Square and wants loyalty in the same dashboard.
- Pricing: on Square's Irish site, €39 a month plus VAT per location for up to 500 loyalty visits a month, €65 for 501 to 1,500 and €90 for 1,501 to 10,000, with a 30 day trial. The US pricing page shows loyalty as part of the Square Plus plan instead of a separate price.
- Strengths: guests join by typing a phone number at checkout, by QR code or on Square Online. Points per visit, per amount spent or per item, several reward levels, and text and email campaigns through Square Marketing (the US page lists the first 500 texts free, then 3 cents each).
- Limitations: the price grows with the number of loyalty visits, so a busy restaurant pays the higher tier. The program is tied to Square.
- Website: squareup.com
Toast Loyalty
Toast Loyalty is a module of the Toast restaurant platform.
- Best for: restaurants on Toast that want loyalty, ordering and payments in one system.
- Pricing: Toast's loyalty and pricing pages refused our requests twice, and the third party guides we found disagree with each other (a quote, about $50 a month, or a $185 bundle), so we quote nothing.
- Strengths: no second system to run.
- Limitations: you need Toast, and the price is not public.
- Website: pos.toasttab.com
Lightspeed Loyalty
Lightspeed bundles loyalty with its restaurant till.
- Best for: a restaurant already on Lightspeed Restaurant that wants points on every bill with nothing to scan.
- Pricing: on Lightspeed's UK page the restaurant plans are €89, €159 and €249 a month. Gift cards and loyalty are an add on on Basic and included in Core and Pro; the add on price is not shown.
- Strengths: guests earn points no matter how they pay, plus birthday offers, campaigns to reward your best guests, and SMS, email and push.
- Limitations: it is tied to Lightspeed Restaurant, and the loyalty module differs by country, so ask which version you would get.
- Website: lightspeedhq.com
Passtastic
Passtastic sells a cheap base plan and adds features as packs, with table bookings in the base plan.
- Best for: a small restaurant that wants a wallet card, a booking page and the lowest base price, especially on Square.
- Pricing: €19 a month excluding VAT (€171 a year) for one location, one program, unlimited customers, free push and table bookings, with a 14 day trial and no card. Packs are €9 a month each (automated messages, customer insights, referral and review requests, the till connection), or €29 for all four, so €48 in total. Extra locations €15 each, SMS from €0.08, online sales 0.99% plus Stripe's fee.
- Strengths: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, its own app with nothing to download, points and levels as well as stamps, memberships, store credit and gift cards, and a trial that needs no card.
- Limitations: the till connection is a paid pack and covers Square, Odoo, Holded, Loggro, Siigo and Lightspeed X Series (the retail till, not Lightspeed Restaurant), not Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos. Its interface languages do not include Slovak or Czech.
- Website: passtastic.io
Kangaroo Rewards
Kangaroo is a points and tiers platform for shops and restaurants, priced in US dollars.
- Best for: a US or Canadian restaurant that wants spend based points, tiers and cashback, with Lightspeed or Shopify in the mix.
- Pricing: Core $79, Plus $199 and Elite $349 a month. The pages show no trial and offer a demo.
- Strengths: points, cashback and tiers, with gift cards on Elite. Guests join through an app or a QR code. Email is on Core; SMS and push start on Plus.
- Limitations: more than one location, and SMS, start at $199. Core allows one integration, Plus two.
- Website: kangaroorewards.com
Loyalzoo
Loyalzoo is a UK built loyalty service with wallet passes and a web app for guests.
- Best for: a restaurant that wants points or stamps without a guest app, and tiers later.
- Pricing: Grow $77 and Smart $167 a month, Multi on request, with a 7 day trial. The site shows dollar prices even on its UK pages.
- Strengths: points or stamps, wallet passes, email and push on both plans, SMS credits on Smart, and connections to Square, Clover, Epos Now, GoDaddy Poynt, Shopify and others.
- Limitations: tiers and targeted campaigns start at $167.
- Website: loyalzoo.com
BonusQR
BonusQR is the only product here with a permanent free plan.
- Best for: a restaurant testing loyalty on no budget, or one that does not need a till link.
- Pricing: Free forever, then Basic $20 and Premium $71 a month when billed quarterly ($22 and $79 monthly). No card for the free plan.
- Strengths: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet on every plan, stamps, cashback, spend and visit programs, points and table bookings from Basic, referral and birthday programs on Premium.
- Limitations: the standard plans have no till connection; integrations come only with a custom app from €1,500 plus €69 a month. The free plan has no news push, Basic allows one every four days and Premium one a day.
- Website: bonusqr.com
Boomerangme
Boomerangme sells Business, Agency and Franchise plans, with features for running several locations or brands.
- Best for: a restaurant group or a franchise that needs one database with head office and franchisee access.
- Pricing: Business from $199 a month ($164 billed annually), Agency from $259, Franchise from $299, each with a 14 day trial and no card.
- Strengths: punch cards, tiers, cashback, memberships, gift cards and coupons in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, unlimited push, geo fenced messages, API and webhooks on Business and POS integrations on Franchise.
- Limitations: $199 a month is far above the other entry plans for a single restaurant.

How to choose loyalty software for a restaurant
Take points from the bill, not from a stamp
A café can live on one stamp per visit. A restaurant cannot: a table of six spending €180 and a solo lunch for €9 would earn the same. Points per euro reward the bigger bill, and cashback does the same in a form guests understand. Our guide to setting up a cashback card in a restaurant shows the arithmetic.
Insist on a till connection that cannot block the till
If staff have to type the bill into a second device, the program dies in the first busy week. With a connected till the points land when the bill is closed and the reward is applied in the same step. Check which tills each tool names on its own site, whether the connection is in the plan you are buying or a paid extra, and what happens when the loyalty service is slow: the bill must close anyway. We wrote down our own rules in a loyalty program must never block your till.
Price the second location now
Most restaurants that run loyalty for a year open or buy a second place. Prices differ widely here: per location (Rewardly, Square, Passtastic at €15), a plan jump (Kangaroo from $199, Loyalzoo Multi on request) or a plan that already covers several sites (Boomerangme Business, up to ten). See loyalty for multiple locations for how one program runs across sites.
Plan for occasions, not just repeat visits
Birthdays fill tables on quiet evenings. Look for a birthday message that sends on its own, and check whether it is on the plan you pay for.
Sell vouchers from the same system
Restaurants sell gift vouchers all year and most of them in December. A loyalty tool that also sells vouchers online saves a second subscription, and prepaid credit that guests spend at the till brings the money in before the meal.
Count what messages cost
Push messages to a wallet card are usually free and arrive on the lock screen. SMS costs per message (Square lists 3 cents, Passtastic €0.08) and adds up fast across a guest list. Decide which channel you will actually use before you compare prices.
For the broader picture, see Rewardly's page for restaurants and our guide to which loyalty model pays off for a restaurant. The free loyalty program ROI calculator turns your covers and average bill into a break even number.
Loyalty apps vs digital wallet cards
Toast, Square and Lightspeed keep loyalty inside the payment, the least friction of all, but tied to one till for good. A branded app makes sense when guests order ahead or pay in it often; otherwise the download is a barrier most guests never clear. A wallet card sits between the two: nothing to install, points from the bill when the till is connected, and a message on the lock screen when the reward is ready. Our comparison loyalty app vs wallet card: which one pays off walks through the decision.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best loyalty software for a small restaurant?
The one that connects to your till. On Square, Toast or Lightspeed, start with their own module. On Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos, Rewardly connects to all four. Without any till link, Passtastic and BonusQR are the cheapest starts.
Should a restaurant use stamps or points?
Points, or cashback. Bills vary too much for a stamp per visit to be fair, and points from the bill need no staff action once the till is connected. Stamps still work for a lunch menu or a coffee counter inside the restaurant.
Do I need a POS integration for restaurant loyalty?
You can start without one and let staff scan a wallet card and type the amount, but pick a tool that can connect to your till later without changing the program.
How much does restaurant loyalty software cost?
Among the products here, entry plans run from free (BonusQR) to about €40 a month for one location, with Kangaroo and Boomerangme at $79 and $199. Till connections, SMS and a second location are where the totals diverge, so compare the final checkout price for the features you need.
Does Rewardly work with Toast or Square?
No. Rewardly connects to Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka and Portos. A restaurant on Toast or Square should use the loyalty built into that till, or a tool that connects to Square such as Passtastic or Loyalzoo.
Does Rewardly need a card for the free trial?
Yes. You add a payment card when you sign up and nothing is charged for 14 days. There is no free plan after the trial, and you can cancel before it ends.
Conclusion
Pick the loyalty software that connects to your till, rewards the bill rather than the visit, and has a clear price for the second location. Check what the entry plan includes, what messages cost, and whether vouchers come with it. If your till is Papaya POS, Storyous, Dotykačka or Portos and you want a wallet card you can set up in about 2 minutes, try Rewardly with a free trial and judge it against the others on this list.
