Papaya POS vs Storyous:
loyalty at the till compared
Papaya POS and Storyous are the closest pair among the POS systems Rewardly connects to. Both send the open bill to Rewardly when a card is scanned and apply the answer. The differences are in setup, what the till shows and how credit is controlled.

The short answer
Both give you a live loyalty offer for the whole bill, so rewards for specific products land on the right line. Neither stores balances in the POS: everything is read from Rewardly on each scan.
Storyous shows more at the till, including the member tier, lets the waiter lower or decline credit, and reverses the loyalty of a cancelled bill. Papaya POS can release credit only when the cashier rings up a chosen product, which some teams prefer.

Why merchants add Rewardly
Rewardly does the counting for both: points, stamps, cashback and credit live in Rewardly and on the customer's wallet card. The till asks for the current state every time, so the card in the phone and the till always agree.
- Customers add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet in about 10 seconds, with no app to download.
- Businesses on Rewardly see 30% more repeat visits on average.
- Push notifications land on the lock screen, with a 90% read rate.
- One program and one card for all your locations, with results for each location.
- Rewardly does not replace your POS. Sales still run through your till as they do today.
- POS integrations and push notifications are included in the Advanced, Professional and Enterprise plans.
The differences that matter day to day
Setup
Storyous: you enter a Rewardly connection code in the Storyous settings, and the same code can add more places later. Papaya POS: you paste the API address and access token into Rewardly, then enter three values in the Papaya POS settings, location by location.
What the till shows
Storyous shows the guest's first name, points and stamps, tier and what the bill earns. Papaya POS shows the discounts and a short message. The member tier is not shown on Papaya POS.
Credit and cashback
On Storyous, credit is filled in automatically and the waiter can lower or decline it. On Papaya POS, all available credit is used automatically, or, with automatic use switched off, only when the cashier rings up a product such as "REDEEM REWARD".
Cancelled bills
Storyous reverses the points and stamps of a cancelled bill. Papaya POS does not reverse loyalty when an order is cancelled.
Two examples
Illustrative example
A bakery on Papaya POS
Cashback builds up on each visit. The owner switches automatic credit off, so it is spent only when the customer asks and the cashier rings up the "REDEEM REWARD" product.
Illustrative example
A restaurant on Storyous
Regulars reach the Gold tier. The waiter sees the tier as soon as the card is scanned and can mention the member perks before the guest pays.
Questions about Papaya POS vs Storyous
Both run stamp cards, points and cashback live at the till. Pick Storyous if you want the tier on screen and waiter control over credit. Pick Papaya POS if you want credit released only through a chosen product.
A loyalty card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, push notifications to that card and discounts applied live to the open bill when the cashier scans the card.
Yes, on both. The whole bill is sent to Rewardly, so a free coffee reward lands on the coffee line. On Papaya POS, when a line has several units, only one is free.
On both, the till is never blocked. The sale goes through without loyalty, and staff see that the loyalty system is temporarily unavailable.
